Nike Train TuesdayMove over #mondaymotivation, you’re not fooling anyone. You’re the first day of the week, and I’m dealing with the aftermath of the weekend, let’s face it- Monday’s leave me breathless and maybe a bit hungover. It’s a great sentiment to start the week off with a bang, but let’s be honest- if your #mondaymotivation is more like a #meatloafmonday don’t fall into a bottomless shame spiral about it.
Especially for winter, when your motivation for wearing a bathing suit is right up there with Christmas shopping at Yorkdale on a Saturday. :shudder: Cleverly enough, Nike has got you covered on both those angles. Staying in shape, working out like there is no such thing as seasons or winter is your ticket to fitness (and for me, sanity). I’ve been running through the 6 this season, and am planning on sticking to that script- complimented by Nike’s NTC workouts, which I’m pleased to double dip and have been hitting up #traintuesdays as well as Thursday’s at Academy of Lions. Now dodging Yorkdale is easy peasy too (although their new SportChek and Jamie Oliver’s new restaurant had me at hellloooo) since Nike now ships to Canada. Boom! Netflix + chill + shop online!
What I love most about Nike (besides their comfy shoes and killer cold weather gear) is the outright statement ‘You are an athlete’, everyone is. Nothing motivates me more than giving it my all and seeing results. Last week I posted my fastest 5K EVER, and it’s directly because of putting in the hours training and getting the delicious advice from their crew of coaches and master trainers.
Dodgeball skills aside (cough, murderball!) I’m certainly far from an elite athlete, and that’s part of the plan. ANYONE can join up- Nike may have just wrapped up the crate (get ready Van City!) but the training continues.
The stars will be out again at the TIFF lightbox, but it won’t be Brad Pitt. Nike is bringing the heat this winter to the lightbox for so sign up here and sign up often!
Huge thanks to Nike for keeping me in fine form this winter!! All photos courtesy of the amazing Tyler Hayward and Natalia Allen from Streets of Toronto.
