B&O Yorkville RunThe B&O Yorkville Run is gearing up for their annual run, now in it’s 7th year. I’ve included this fabulous race again this year in my roundup for BlogTO. So what makes this run so special?
First off, it’s fast. Not only is the route a fan favourite for it’s relative flatness, but it’s also home to some serious elite feet by way of the Canadian 5K Road Race Championship which kicks the day off, starting at 9am. Think you’ve got what it takes? They’re currently accepting applications for this leg of the competition. Say you’re spry, but not that spry, then the regular 5K is right up your alley. Beginning at 9:45am, the race is the same route, with runners tackling the pristine streets of Yorkville, weaving through some of Toronto’s prettiest paths, before the epic finish line at Jesse Ketchum PS.
The finish line signals the end of the run, and the beginning of a party befitting of Yorkville. White gloved servers will be doling out eats and treats from some of Yorkville’s best restaurants- a perfect way to refuel and mingle with your fellow racers.
But the real draw for me is the charity tie in. With eight different charities to choose from your sponsorship dollars are hard at work and tied into something you truly believe in. This year I’m running for the The YWCA Toronto, which supports over 12,000 women and children across the city. YWCA Toronto is the largest provider of women-focused housing in Canada. Support from donations gives women and their children the chance to escape violence, access shelter and support, and rebuild their lives. YWCA Toronto provides 30 services and programs across the city giving women the tools and opportunity to rebuild their lives.
Have I got you hooked? Check this out! Yorkville Run is hooking up runners with juicy prizes from B&O- not to mention their beyond deluxe race kit. Trust me, you do not want to miss out on this one!
So, are you ready to rock Yorkville? Sign up now– this race is guaranteed to sell out.
Thanks to Yorkville Run for allowing me to participate in this epic run! Hope to see you all there on September 11th.
